Location: Warwickshire (Hybrid working – 3 days in the office, 2 days from home)

An Architectural Technician job in Warwickshire, working on fast‑paced hospitality, commercial and brand rollout projects. This position suits a confident Architectural Technician who can take ownership of technical packages, coordinate effectively with wider project teams, and deliver high-quality drawing information to strict deadlines.
The successful Architectural Technician will manage individual workloads across multiple live projects, contributing to the delivery of commercial fit‑out and interior schemes from technical design through to completion. This is a delivery‑focused role requiring strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a design‑led environment.
Practice & Project Information
This established design practice delivers hospitality, retail and commercial fit‑out projects across the UK, including brand rollout schemes and interior environments. The studio operates at pace, producing coordinated technical information and working closely with consultants, contractors and local authorities to maintain programme targets.
Projects typically involve refurbishment, fit‑out and interior adaptation within existing buildings. The team produces detailed construction packages, statutory submissions and as‑built information, ensuring compliance with Planning, Building Regulations and CDM requirements.
As an Architectural Technician in Warwickshire, you will work closely with Designers, Senior Technicians and Design Leads, contributing to technically robust drawing packages while maintaining consistency and accuracy across all project documentation.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce detailed working drawings and coordinated technical packages to a high standard
* Prepare and submit statutory applications including Planning and Building Regulations
* Liaise with local authorities, consultants and contractors to resolve technical queries
* Prepare pavement licence drawings and as‑built drawings for Health & Safety files
* Work closely with Designers and the wider Design Team to develop coordinated drawing packages
* Manage individual project workloads in line with agreed programmes and deadline
* Assist with measured and building surveys, independently or alongside senior staff
* Maintain awareness of Planning, Building Regulations and CDM requirements
* Research construction methods, products and regulatory updates
* Attend design team and site meetings, representing the practice where required
* Support the delivery of commercial fit‑out and brand rollout projects
* Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure technical accuracy
* Assist with maintaining the technical library and provide general project support
* Work closely with Senior Technicians and Design Leads to meet programme targets
Required Skills and Experience
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in an architectural or design‑led environment
* HNC, HND or Degree in Architectural Technology, Architecture, Interior Design or similar
* Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, detailing and building systems
* Proven experience producing detailed technical drawings and specifications
* Experience working on hospitality, retail or interior fit‑out projects preferred
* Good understanding of Planning, Building Regulations, CDM and design risk assessments
* Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams
* Strong organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
* Excellent attention to detail and consistency in drawing output
* Confident communicator, comfortable in client‑facing situations
* Ability to guide junior or freelance staff where required
* AutoCAD – Advanced proficiency essential
* Vectorworks – Working knowledge preferred
* Adobe Creative Suite and Acrobat – Working knowledge
* Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
