We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Educator to join our team, providing high-quality care and education to young children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, demonstrating excellent management and leadership skills. This is a temporary position we are offering to cover maternity leave but has the potential of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate
Responsibilities
* Plan and implement engaging educational activities that promote the development of children's cognitive, social, and emotional skills.
* Create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment for children to learn and explore.
* Observe and assess children's progress, ensuring that individual needs are met through tailored learning experiences.
* Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's development and well-being.
* Act as a key person for a group of children, maintaining accurate records, observations, and assessments.
* Foster strong, positive relationships with children, parents/carers, and colleagues.
* Support the safeguarding and welfare of all children, following safeguarding and child protection policies.
* Work collaboratively with the nursery team to maintain a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment, both indoors and outdoors.
* Contribute to planning meetings and staff discussions, sharing ideas and supporting team development.
* Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, nursery policies, and health and safety procedures.
* Support children's personal, social, and emotional development, encouraging independence and confidence.
* Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high standards of care and education within the nursery setting.
* Manage daily routines, ensuring that health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times.
* Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff members, fostering a team-oriented atmosphere.
Qualifications
* Relevant qualifications in Early Childhood Education or Childcare (e.g., CACHE Level 3 or equivalent).
* Previous experience working with children in a nursery or educational setting is essential.
* Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
* A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development is crucial. Essential:
* Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education/Childcare (or equivalent).
* Experience of working with children aged 0–5 in an early years setting.
* Sound knowledge of the EYFS and child development.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
Desirable:
* Paediatric First Aid certificate.
* Experience of working as a key person.
* Additional training in SEND or behaviour management.
Job Type: Temporary
Contract length: 13 months
Pay: £12.71 per hour
