£16 – £18 per hour + shift premiums
We are recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner to join a well-established precision engineering business in Poole. This is a permanent position within a clean, organised, and quality-driven environment, ideal for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality components.
The Role
You will be working on small to medium batch components, setting and operating CNC lathes (with some exposure to mill/turn where applicable) using FANUC/Mazak controls.
Key responsibilities:
Setting and operating CNC lathes using FANUC (Mazak advantageous)
Producing components to detailed engineering drawings and specifications
Selecting tooling, setting offsets, and proving out existing programs
Completing first-off and in-process inspection to tight tolerances (SPC where required)
Recording setup and run times and providing process feedback
Maintaining a clean and organised work area in line with 5S standardsSkills & Experience
Proven experience as a CNC Turner in a precision engineering environment
Strong working knowledge of FANUC controls (Mazak beneficial)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
Methodical, reliable, and quality-focused approachDesirable
Multi-axis CNC turning experience
Exposure to CNC milling or mill/turn machines
Experience with Nakamura machines and bar feed systemsShifts & Benefits
