Lawyer - Adult Social Care
An opportunity has arisen for a Lawyer to join a growing specialist legal practice working exclusively with public sector and not-for-profit organisations.
This role sits within a well-established Adult Social Care and Community Care team advising local authorities and other public bodies on complex and meaningful work that directly impacts vulnerable adults and the communities they live in.
This position offers the chance to build expertise in a highly specialised and increasingly important area of law within a collaborative and supportive environment.
The successful lawyer will work on a broad range of adult social care and mental health matters, combining advisory work with litigation. The caseload is varied and engaging, covering issues arising under the Mental Capacity Act, safeguarding responsibilities and wider community care duties. Key areas of work include:
* Advising on legal issues relating to adult social care and community care
* Conducting proceedings concerning adults with care or mental health needs
* Supporting client organisations with safeguarding responsibilities and statutory duties
* Delivering training and legal input to social care professionals
* Representing clients in negotiations, tribunals and court proceedings where required
* Contributing to the development and mentoring of colleagues within the team
