About Our Client

Our client, based in Leeds, is a dynamic retrofit organisation delivering energy efficiency, renewable heating, and solar PV solutions to homes across Northern England. They partner with households, local authorities, and contractors to upgrade homes through insulation, ventilation, heating, and renewable energy systems — always maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer care.

Electrical installations form a key part of their operations, including consumer units, rewiring, controls, and the integration of renewable technologies such as Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs) and solar PV systems. As the business continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Electrical Install Manager to lead the technical and operational delivery of their electrical programmes.

Role Overview

As Electrical Install Manager, you will serve as the technical lead and operational manager for all electrical installation activities across retrofit projects.

You’ll oversee the full electrical operations— from consumer units and rewiring through to controls, lighting, and the integration of renewable systems such as ASHPs and solar PV.

Managing subcontractors and engineers, you’ll ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality installations across all sites, while providing scheduling, technical guidance and leadership to project teams.

This role is ideal for an experienced electrician or electrical engineer with proven supervisory or management experience who takes pride in setting high standards, solving problems, and driving technical excellence in retrofit delivery.

Key Responsibilities

*

Lead and manage all electrical installations across retrofit projects (consumer units, wiring, controls, and lighting).

*

Support and coordinate subcontracted electrical capacity to meet delivery targets.

*

Oversee electrical integration for renewable heating and solar PV systems whilst ensuring full compliance with UK electrical regulations (BS 7671), building regulations, and PAS 2035 standards.

*

Plan and coordinate works across multiple sites; allocate tasks to in-house teams and subcontractors.

*

Carry out on-site inspections, audits, and safety checks to maintain quality and compliance - Then approving and signing off electrical commissioning tests, certificates, and compliance documentation.

*

Provide technical support and troubleshooting guidance to engineers on-site.

*

Mentor and develop the electrical team, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.

*

Collaborate with procurement and operations to ensure timely material and equipment availability.

*

Manage and monitor risks, defects, and remedial works, maintaining high standards of workmanship.

*

Work closely with gas, heating, and ventilation teams to ensure coordinated delivery.

Skills & Experience

Essential - MUST HAVE!

*

Fully qualified electrician holding:

*

NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).

*

18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).

*

Inspection & Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent).

*

Valid ECS or CSCS card.

*

Proven experience managing or supervising electrical teams or projects.

*

Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, controls, testing, and compliance (BS 7671).

*

Experience in renewable and low-carbon technologies, including ASHPs and solar PV.

*

Knowledge of PAS 2035 and retrofit compliance requirements.

*

City & Guilds or equivalent certification in Solar PV or Renewable Technologies.

*

Experience leading multidisciplinary teams involving electrical, gas, and heating trades.

*

Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation, with experience in RAMS, toolbox talks, and site inductions.

*

Excellent organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

*

Full UK driving licence (regional travel required).

*

Experience working in occupied homes with a customer-focused approach.

Desirable:

*

Experience working within funded energy efficiency schemes (ECO4, SHDF, etc.) and background in retrofit, renewables, or social housing projects.
