Are you passionate about nurturing young children and supporting their development in a caring and inclusive environment? We're looking for a warm, reliable and enthusiastic Nursery Nurse to join our friendly nursery team at Peterborough College on a maternity cover basis. You'll be working in a supportive early years setting, helping to deliver high-quality care and education for children aged 0-5.
Responsibilities
* Supporting the Room Leader to provide a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
* Acting as a key person for a group of children - observing, planning, and delivering age-appropriate activities to support their development.
* Helping children build independence through daily care routines and structured learning.
* Building strong, supportive relationships with children, parents, and carers.
* Supporting the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and nursery policies.
* Assisting with snack and mealtimes, tidying activities, and contributing to the smooth running of the room.
* Collaborating with colleagues and attending team meetings to support high-quality provision.
* Deputising for the Room Leader when needed.
Qualifications
* A Level 2 childcare qualification (minimum).
* A good standard of education including Level 2 English and Maths.
* Experience working with children aged 0-5 in an early years setting.
* Strong understanding of the EYFS and child development.
* A warm, compassionate communicator with great teamwork and initiative.
* A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and ongoing professional development.
* Desirable but not essential: Level 3 childcare qualification, First Aid, Food Hygiene, or Child Protection training.
