The Cash Manager andthe Cash Management team are part of the wider financial accounts team.
The function of theCash Management team is to provide the Trust with an efficient and costeffective accounts payable, accounts receivable and treasury managementservice.
As part of this remitthe Cash Manager and Assistant Cash Manager are responsible for theprovision of information and advice on financial issues to non-financialmanagers. These services include, income, debtors, VAT, cash flow and thegeneral office functions (e.g. purchase card and petty cash) for the Trust.
The Assistant Cash Manager will take the day-to-dayresponsibility for a number of agreed services from the list of servicesreferenced above to include management of the Finance Officers for the agreedservices, and will be accountable to the Cash Manager for performance andprovision of information in this area.
From time to time thepost holder will undertake other duties as agreed with the Cash Manager orother senior members of the Financial Accounts and Cash Management team. Thiswill include deputising for colleagues at meetings when required; the provisionof data requests for statutory returns, freedom of information requests andcontributing to wider finance team developments such as the attendance of awaydays, the annual Budget Holders Conference and contribution to non-financecommunications such as the Budget Holders Newsletter etc.
Main duties of the job
* Responsible for cashierfunction and accounts receivable. This includes ensuring all bank accounts arereconciled, raising invoices, chasing aged debt and preparing month endreporting.
* Leading the purchase card andpetty cash function. This includes requesting new card users, ensuring creditlimits are in line with policy and posting month end journals for spend to theledger.
* Supporting the financialrunning of the Charity. This involves quarterly reporting, monitoring of donationsand liaising with fund users.
* Line management responsibilityfor finance officers across multiple sites.
* Deputising for CashManager.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* 1. GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
* 2. AAT qualified to level 3 or equivalent accounting experience
Experience
* 1. Accounting experience
* 2. IT literate including extensive use of Word and Excel
* 3. Knowledge of ledger systems/accounting strategy and budgetary control processes
* 2. Knowledge of NHS finance and NHS VAT
Knowledge and skills
* 1. Good communication skills both verbal and written
* 2. Ability to explain finance information to non-finance managers
* 3. Experience of working as a team, adopting a task-based approach to workload
* 4. Good analytical skills
* 5. Ability to produce and interpret financial information including variance analysis, analysis of pay and non-pay, review of complex information
* 6. Manage own time and workload in accordance with monthly / annual and ad-hoc timetables, ensuring all deadlines are met on a timely basis
