Full Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Take ownership of improvement activities and support site-wide projects.
2. Support the Maintenance Supervisor in daily activity planning and work prioritization.
3. Maintain records within the site maintenance system (Calibrations, Inspections, Breakdowns, Repairs, etc.).
4. Evaluate the quantity and availability of spare parts required to be in stock.
5. Identify and propose subcontractors and suppliers, and assist in developing requests for quotes.
6. Deliver fast, effective electrical/mechanical fault finding by investigating root causes and implementing preventative solutions.
7. Ensure all corrective maintenance actions are carried out accurately.
8. Ensure that all consumed parts are booked out correctly and recorded as necessary.
9. Carry out planned preventive maintenance tasks.
10. Practice continuous improvement, innovation, and proactiveness for better ways of working, offering solutions to encountered problems.
Requirements:
* Education: Master in Mechanical Engineering.
* Essential:
* Time served fully indentured modern apprenticeship.
* BTEC/HNC/HND/NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Qualification.
* Electrical & Program Local Control (PLC) fault finding relevant qualifications.
* Desirable:
* HND / Foundation Degree in Engineering.
* Relevant IOSH Safety Training.
* PLC fault finding (Siemens S7 advantageous).
* 17th Edition IET wiring Regulations.
Experience:
* Significant experience within manufacturing & maintenance environments, ideally in FMCG or similar industrial settings.
* Hands-on knowledge of electronic, electrical, and PLC control systems.
* Experience with pneumatic systems, air rams, solenoids, and pressure sensors.
* Knowledge of ATEX-rated areas is advantageous.
* Good fault finding and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to understand electrical drawings.
* Knowledge of health and safety standards and ability to carry out risk assessments.
* Good organizational and decision-making skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Self-motivated, proactive, and reliable.
* Strong attention to detail and forward-thinking attitude.
* Progressive attitude towards training.
* IT literate and good communication skills.
Specific Skills:
* Dual skilled with experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLC control systems (Siemens S7).
