Lead Support Worker

West Yorkshire Supported Accommodations and Community Services

Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hpw). Applications for part-time will be considered.

Pay £13.21 per hour (£25,838 per annum) [pro rata] and great benefits including Health Cash Plan.

As our Lead Support Worker, you’ll be at the heart of supporting our customers who have complex needs to support them within their accommodations and out in the community. Our Central Resource Team supports our supported accommodations to cover staff annual leave, sickness, or recruitment to ensure our customers always get the best possible service and support.

Typical day as a Lead Support Worker (known by us as Coordinator)

* Creating support plans with your customers and coordinating our small team of Support Workers working to the plans.
* Assisting our customers with complex needs and vulnerabilities, including homelessness, substance misuse, mental health, and social isolation.
* Helping customers with independent living, daily tasks, budgeting, health and wellbeing, and activities.
* Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, goal setting, safeguarding, and regular reviews. We also assist with ending and setting up tenancies for our accommodations.
* Engaging in casual chats, catch-ups, and collaboration with colleagues, with plenty of time to connect with customers.

You bring

* Passion to support our customers to live their best lives, working collaboratively with attention to detail.
* Experience in creating person-centred support plans and supporting colleagues to work towards them.
* Experience in coordinating and assessing customer referrals.
* The ability to work on your own initiative, remain calm under pressure, and have a resilient approach.
* A vehicle insured for business purposes is required; we will pay your mileage.

Due to current certificate of sponsorship limits, we are unable to offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role. This is under regular review.

Our team

You’ll join Yvonne on the central resource team, who has worked for Home Group since 2014. Yvonne started as a Support Worker and has taken full advantage of our training and development opportunities. Supporting her is our Client Service Manager for Yorkshire, Laura, who started as a Support Coordinator within the team and is always available to support and answer questions.

Job details

* 37.5 hours a week (part-time applications considered). Rota includes evenings and weekends.
* Travel across West Yorkshire, including Huddersfield, Wakefield, and Leeds.
* Flexible start and finish times to meet customer needs.
* Regular team meetings and training, with occasional lone working.
* Ability to use technology for support plans, online learning, and collaboration.
* Enhanced DBS check required; paid for by us.
