We are currently recruiting for a Training and Development Specialist to support our Rolling Stock Customer Service business. This is an exciting opportunity for a Rolling Stock Technician or Trainer within an engineering discipline, with a passion for developing people, to join Siemens Mobility Training Team.
As a site independent worker, you will be responsible for conducting both individual and group training courses in technical & operational fields, Health & Safety, and processes & procedures UK-wide. Your ability to assess people’s competence, monitor the effectiveness of course materials and review feedback will make a real impact in this role.
You’ll make a difference by
* Delivering the defined training courses as agreed with the Business Partner and the business, and reviewing course content when significant changes to fleet or train subsystems require amendments.
* Developing courses on business request for new fleet mobilisation or to expand our current portfolio and ensuring all courses are approved in line with departmental process.
* Developing and carrying out required Safety Critical, Technical & Operational Assessments as required by the business as defined by the relevant Competency Management System and the business Grading Policy.
* Using feedback from candidates and customers to review and develop course content when appropriate.
* Using your knowledge of diversity to develop inclusive training materials and organise training accordingly.
* Maintaining personal competence to ensure the delivery of training is aligned to best practice whilst utilising current training techniques and supporting digital delivery where appropriate.
* Fully participating and engaging in our behavioural safety agenda to ensure we work safely.
Your success will be grounded by
* Strong technical knowledge & understanding of engineering maintenance procedures & regimes.
* Rolling Stock engineering experience (Such as High Speed or Electric Traction) and good knowledge of Rolling Stock systems.
* Engineering qualification (aligned to Level 3 NVQ Minimum)
* Good knowledge of IT systems/software (such as PowerPoint, Excel)
It would also be beneficial to have
* Trainer and Assessor qualifications (NVQ Level 4) and A1 however development of these competences will be available
* Good understanding of diversity and its impact on training
* Excellent communication skills both written and oral
* Strong organisation/planning skills
* The ability to work as part of a wider team & collaborate effectively
