Spire Cardiff Hospital, located in Pontprennau near Cardiff, is seeking an experienced Cardiac Physiologist to join our welcoming and high-performing Cardiology Department on a permanent part-time basis (15 hours per week). This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care—supporting patients through vital diagnostic stages and helping shape their treatment journey with accuracy, compassion and expertise.
Our Cardiology service supports both inpatient and outpatient procedures, and in this role you will primarily work within our Outpatients Department. You will work closely with consultants, physiologists and nursing colleagues to deliver safe, effective and patient-focused care. This role is ideal for someone looking for flexible hours while continuing to make a meaningful clinical impact.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Perform a range of cardiac investigations including ECGs and exercise tolerance tests
2. Apply and analyse cardiac monitors, including Holter monitoring and interpretation of results
3. Support use of ZIO patches (desirable) and pacing services (experience beneficial but not essential)
4. Assess patients’ health and wellbeing across a varied caseload
5. Plan, deliver and evaluate care tailored to individual patient needs
6. Communicate complex and sensitive information in a clear and supportive way
7. Contribute to continuous quality improvement and service development
Who we’re looking for:
8. Degree in Cardiac Physiology or equivalent
9. Minimum 2 years’ post-graduate experience
10. Experience in non-invasive cardiac investigations
11. Registration with AHCS or RCCP
12. BSE and/or BHRS accreditation desirable
13. Evidence of ongoing professional development
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Part Time – 20 hours per week
This role will be worked across Monday to Saturday, between 07:30 and 20:00.
