Electrical Design Engineer Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and delivering electrical control systems for food process equipment.
* This includes configuring standard control systems, designing bespoke electrical solutions, and providing technical support across multiple business areas.
* The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, cable schedules, and system documentation to minimize issues during assembly, installation, and commissioning stages.
* They will also ensure that all electrical designs comply with company standards, quality procedures, and relevant electrical regulations and safety standards.
Main Responsibilities:
* Designing, configuring, and issuing electrical systems and control panels to meet contract requirements and schedules.
* Producing accurate and detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, cable schedules, and system documentation.
* Ensuring all electrical designs comply with company standards, quality procedures, and relevant electrical regulations and safety standards.
* Specifying and selecting electrical components and systems, including drives, sensors, control panels, and PLCs.
* Supporting manufacturing and assembly teams by resolving electrical and control system issues efficiently.
Candidate Profile:
* A motivated and confident electrical design engineer with relevant industry experience.
* Proficient in electrical CAD and design tools (e.g., EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar).
* Experienced in producing robust engineering calculations to justify design decisions.
* Familiar with electrical component selection for low-volume industrial machinery.
* Strong time management and task prioritisation skills.
* Comfortable presenting technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements:
* Relevant industry experience as an electrical design engineer.
* Proficiency in electrical CAD and design tools.
* Ability to produce robust engineering calculations.
* Familiarity with electrical component selection for low-volume industrial machinery.
