Pineapple Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a reputable and growing business in Worcester to find a proactive and detail-oriented Purchase Ledger Team Leader.

We are looking for a candidate who takes pride in ownership, thrives under pressure, and can navigate complex data with ease managing a team of 5 individuals on a daily basis.


The Role:

As the Purchase Ledger Team Leader, you will support the Purchase Ledger Manager by overseeing the daily operations of the team. You will be the first point of escalation, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and to strict deadlines.


Key Responsibilities:

* Team Leadership: Direct supervision of Purchase Ledger Clerks and Seniors, including daily planning and conducting monthly 1-2-1s.
* Payment Cycles: Preparation and execution of payment runs and ensuring the timely distribution of remittances.
* Financial Integrity: Managing high-volume supplier payment allocations, BACS postings, and inter-business accounts.
* Complex Processing: Overseeing manual rebates, discount entries, and processing invoices outside of the standard ordering process.
* Query Management: Handling escalated or complex queries and performing regular maintenance of the ordering system to resolve \"on-hold\" items.
* Account Oversight: Managing credit card accounts
* Strategic Support: Assisting the PL Manager with audits, special project work, and staff training.


About You:

The successful candidate will be a \"hands-on\" leader who is comfortable working with high volumes of data and can maintain accuracy when things get busy.


Essential Skills & Experience:

* Experience: 2-3 years of proven experience within a Purchase Ledger management or supervisory role.
* Technical Savvy: Intermediate Excel skills are essential; you must be confident reconciling data across multiple systems.
* Leadership: A demonstrated ability to support and develop staff, acting as a reliable second-in-command to the Manager.
* Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
* Attributes: Highly organised, detail-oriented, and adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment.
