Hours: Mon-Fri 6am-2pm / Mon-Thurs 2pm-12am
Pay: £40,000 - £45,758 DOE (includes shift premium)
Our client is a market‑leading Hydraulic Valve Systems manufacturing company, rapidly growing with an overflowing order book.
The role
Develop hydraulic cartridge valves while maintaining safety standards by setting and operating a Sliding Head CNC machine. Ensure quality standards for valve components across many international projects.
Duties
* Set up and operate sliding head CNC machines using tooling and setup sheets to meet specified tolerances and cycle times.
* Follow Health & Safety and 5S standards, ensuring compliance with EHS guidelines and improving workplace organization.
* Maintain tooling—change inserts, drills, and other tools as needed, suggesting alternative solutions when appropriate.
* Perform dimensional inspections and record output and scrap to keep company quality standards.
* Follow work orders and complete tasks in line with the machine system.
Requirements
* Previous CNC machine setting experience with independent operation of CNC turning machines.
* Ability to maintain tight tolerances while interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
* Strong quality and safety awareness, acting independently in quality checks and maintaining safety procedures.
* Experience with Sliding Head CNC machines is an advantage; training can be provided.
* Experience with Fanuc systems or similar CNC controls is advantageous.
