WHAT WILL YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE?
· Campus Safety: Routinely patrol our Education Centre on foot across multiple floors for protection of premises, property and information.
· Access Control: Operate and monitor CCTV and control the entry and exit of individuals, materials and vehicles. Ensure only authorised individuals gain entry through effective ID and visitor checks.
· Incident Response: Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies or incidents, following safety procedures, including fire and bomb threats, ensuring all individuals on site are kept fully informed at all times.
· Customer Service: To readily interact with a students, staff and visitors within the Education Centre.
· Conflict Management: De-escalate situations calmly and professionally, acting as the first point of contact for students, staff and visitors when an incident occurs.
· Reporting: Diligent management and maintenance of site records / reference materials including Health & Safety records, incident forms and risk assessments.
· Compliance: Ensure health, safety and safeguarding policies are upheld at all times.
WHAT BACKGROUND DO I NEED TO HAVE?
Essential:
· Valid SIA licence. Unfortunately, we are unable to consider applications from non-licence holders.
· Minimum of 1–2 years' experience in a security, safety, or customer-facing role.
· Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Good observation skills with attention to detail.
· Enhanced DBS Check.
Desirable:
· First Aid at Work qualification.
· Fire safety or emergency response training.
· Experience working in an higher educational environment.
