Job Title: AI Specialist Job Description We are looking for an experienced AI Specialist to enhance the integration of AI tools within the clients engineering organisation. This role is crucial for evaluating current and new AI solutions to boost engineering efficiency and governance. Responsibilities
Assess and evaluate existing AI tools approved within the organisation, such as Rovo for Confluence and Microsoft Copilot.
Evaluate external or unapproved tools, including GitHub Copilot and Local IDE AI assistants.
Provide recommendations balancing capability, governance, security, and ROI.
Lead the process of navigating organisational governance frameworks to secure approval for new AI tools.
Collaborate with internal security, compliance, and platform teams to streamline adoption considerations for tools.
Identify bottlenecks within squads and match them with AI-assisted solutions.
Drive adoption strategy and training to maximise benefits for engineering teams.
Enable AI tooling early in the engineering process, including local IDEs, CI/CD integration, and documentation automation.
Pilot, configure, and integrate AI tools into engineering workflows.
Support evaluation of AWS-based AI solutions to enable future platform capabilities.
Provide hands-on guidance to engineers in using selected AI tools effectively.
Essential Skills
Strong technical understanding of software engineering practices and modern development environments.
Proven experience evaluating, implementing, or governing AI/ML tools within an enterprise context.
experience with AI-assisted coding platforms, cloud-based AI platforms, and productivity tools.
Knowledge of enterprise governance, risk, and compliance frameworks.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to collaborate across engineering, product, security, and leadership teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
experience within financial services or other regulated environments.
Background supporting large engineering organisations or platform teams.
Understanding of AI safety, data governance, and ethical AI considerations.
