About the role:
1. Ensure BBV screening and vaccinations are comprehensively delivered
2. Coordinate and support the Hep C treatment clinic
3. Responsibility for the development and running of the needle exchange.
4. To reduce drug related harm to the individual and wider community
5. To promote harm reduction and enable service users to improve their own health and wellbeing
6. Develop skills and knowledge to conduct clinical interventions.
7. To promote and support individuals into both abstinence based and medically assisted forms of recovery
About you:
8. Excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field.
9. Experience of delivering harm reduction advice and interventions, including Needle Exchange.
10. Experience of delivering Naloxone training.
11. Current Certificated Injection Technique and Immunisation Training OR willing to undertake training
12. A commitment to multi-agency working and establishing partnerships with other professions to achieve good outcomes for the service user group,. health services, GP’s, hepatitis clinic etc.
13. Good working knowledge of physical health interventions, services and good practice.
14. Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
15. Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards
16. Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others
