Overview
The Role
Work as part of a cross-functional team following agile practices to deliver web solutions to support Gamesys’ growth. You will be encouraged to form strong relationships with your team and with other teams in the Player Services area. Your team will be supported by a product owner, technical architects and the project delivery team. You will be expected to follow best software practices including testing, test automation, code reviews, refactoring and pairing. An enthusiasm for learning new skills and helping us to improve working practices is desirable.
Responsibilities
* Deliver new applications and enhance existing websites.
* Follow responsive design principles to ensure that websites support multiple devices and multiple browsers covering desktop and mobile.
* Support your team to meet sprint commitments.
* Ensure that impediments of any kind are escalated and long term solutions pursued.
* Delivery high quality well tested software that meets agreed requirements.
* Promote best software development practices.
* Collaborate.
* Support and promote agile practices including Scrum and Kanban.
Key Skills
* Good experience of creating web sites using HTML5, JavaScript and CSS3. You may be more specialised in one of these areas.
* Exposure to JavaScript libraries or frameworks: ideally React, but we would look at people who have used Angular, Backbone andjQuery.
* Exposure toNode and Grunt
* Understand the principles of scalable and maintainable object-oriented JavaScript code.
* Solid understanding of software engineering.
* Experience writing tests, automating these and adopting TDD desirable.
* Team working experience.
* Exposure to Java development or Java web frameworks or a desire to learn these is nice to have.

Player Services provides the central services leveraged by the rest of the company to help deliver our award winning games and legendary customer service. Player Services is at an exciting point in its development, using frameworks such as React and NodeJS to deliver mobile-first, responsively designed websites and tools such as Apigee to create a series of versioned API’s to deliver services such as Payment Processing, real-time in-game offer generation and real-time fraud detection. In these areas we are using modern technologies like Cassandra, Neo4J, Hazelcast and Docker to deliver those services in some innovative ways.
