Job Description

This is a very exciting time of change for Together as we go through a tech transformation. We are looking for a Data Governance Specialist to work within our highly skilled Data & BI Team, ensuring that data-related changes across the organisation are designed, implemented, and governed effectively. The role provides technical stewardship over core applications, databases and metadata, ensuring that data is well‑defined, structured, and aligned with governance standards. You will act as a key enabler for data quality, literacy, and accountability across business and technology teams.

You will work closely with the team delivering our new end‑to‑end tech system and key stakeholder/data owners across the business. This role offers the opportunity to get involved with projects and support the business as the entire organisation moves to new systems and ways of working.

Qualifications

It would be wonderful if you had experience working with Databricks and more specifically, Unity Catalogue, but this is not essential; other similar systems are acceptable. It is essential that you can act as an effective conduit between the business and the technical teams, with clear stakeholder management skills and the ability to translate requirements to others such as Data Engineers.

* Strong experience in data stewardship, data governance, or data architecture roles.
* Proficient in relational database design, SQL, metadata management and data modelling.
* Skilled in conducting Data Impact Assessments and supporting change initiatives.
* Familiar with data modelling techniques and tools (e.g., SAP PowerDesigner).
* Strong communication skills, engaging both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
* Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Unity Catalogue).
* Ability to translate technical data concepts into business‑relevant language.
* Significant knowledge of the Data Management Association (DAMA) framework, particularly the development and application of Data Governance and Data Quality.
* Knowledge of data profiling, data definitions/data catalogue management, DQ issue management, root cause analysis and reference data management.
* Excellent SQL and data literacy skills, able to work with less data‑literate customers to achieve required outcomes.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills at all levels, with strong written and oral communication skills.

Additional Information

If you feel you have some of the skills mentioned above, but not all, please still apply and we would be happy to discuss your suitability for the role.

Together embraces diversity and inclusion, and is proud to be an equal‑opportunity workplace. We welcome difference, celebrate it, support it, and value our colleagues for who they are. We are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives and skills.

If you need any support or reasonable adjustments during any stage of the recruitment process, please let us know when completing your application. This information will be noted by our team so we can put steps in place to help you be at your best.

Click here for more information on our Recruitment Process.

Please note that all successful applicants will undergo relevant reference, financial and criminal record checks.

Please apply ASAP. We would like to commence interviews in early March.
