Tax Associate Director - Transactions focus, Oxford
This is an exciting opportunity to join part of the GT tax team that focuses on advising businesses and their owners on significant transactions.
This is an advisory-only role, with no compliance involved.
You will work on a variety of interesting projects, such as tax structuring of trade sales, private equity investments, management buyouts, IPOs, carve-outs/demergers, and related planning.
This role may suit you if you have experience advising shareholders and their companies on transactions, whether from a corporate or private client tax background.
You will benefit from working in a team of approachable, friendly people with a supportive culture, committed to delivering excellent client service with technical and practical expertise.
The role is within our GT Private South & London team, covering transactions and traditional private client advice for high-net-worth individuals, with flexibility to work across both areas.
A look into the role
* Provide expert tax advice to mid-market businesses and their shareholders
* Advise on tax implications and structuring of acquisitions, disposals, and business separations
* Build trust with clients by delivering high-quality advice on time and accurately
* Lead client engagements and coordinate with the Private and wider Tax teams
* Develop and mentor junior team members
* Lead client meetings, answer queries confidently
* Offer creative solutions to clients' tax issues and cross-sell services within the GT network
Qualifications and experience
Minimum criteria include:
* Professional qualification (CTA / ACA / ACCA or equivalent)
* Confidence advising on complex tax matters, including transactions
* Interest in personal and team development
Additional skills that are a plus:
* External profile building
* Business development and proposal writing experience
