Offer description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Mental Health Nurse (RMN) within NHS Fife Health and Social Care Partnership. The Community Mental Health Service is a evolving service within NHS Fife and the successful candidate will be pivotal in developing the team and providing clinical leadership and direction.

The CMHT provides care and treatment to the population of North East Fife and Glenrothes, and it comprises a multi-disciplinary team including Nursing, Medical and Allied Health Professionals. In addition, the CMHT is responsible for the physical healthcare needs of patients receiving input from the mental health service in North East Fife and Glenrothes.

The role will require you to respond to an ever changing and demanding working environment. You will be responsible for delivering safe effective patient-focused care to those experiencing mental health difficulties across a wide spectrum of mental health diagnosis and complexity. This will require you to exercise initiative and autonomy to anticipate and respond to the unpredictability of referrals and the complex demands they present. You will also have the opportunity to provide learning for Peers, Student Nurses and Medical Students, in both General and Mental Health placements and other Health Care Professionals.

Applications for this post are invited from experienced RMN’s, able to demonstrate enhanced skills, knowledge and experience of working with patients presenting with a range of mental health problems. The successful applicant will have experience of team working, problem solving, flexibility, high-level communication skills, continuing personal development and change management. A commitment to partnership working with a range of stakeholders is also essential. The successful candidate will have significant experience at Band 6 preferably in a community mental health setting and have demonstrable experience of service development.

NHS Fife has a comprehensive and supportive education programme that will enable you to fulfill the needs of this role. We are committed to mentorship/preceptorship, clinical supervision and personal development.

A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.

To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. This permission is, without exception, granted by the UK Visa and Immigration Service. As part of the pre-employment checks for a preferred candidate, NHS Scotland boards will check your entitlement to work in the UK. It can be evidenced through a number of routes including specific types of visa as well as EU settled and pre-settled status.

We offer flexible working and family-friendly policies and fully support disabled candidates, and candidates with long-term conditions or who are neurodivergent by making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment policy and practices.

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
