Status: Temporary Full Time (5 Month Contract)

Wage Schedule: $34.130 - $36.040 per hour

This position is open to all qualified CUPE staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 27 January 2026 and closing at 11:59 pm on 3 February 2026.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Accounts Payable clerk will perform a wide range of clerical duties necessary to the efficient functioning of the department; administer hospital policies and procedures, necessary to ensure adherence to established accounting controls; process all requests for payments ensuring proper documentation and coding; ensure the proper and timely payment of invoices from suppliers and contractors; assist in documentation and maintenance of the Accounts Payable module; maintain strict confidentiality of information. Also perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Community college General Business diploma, majoring in accounting, or two years recent Accounts Payable experience in a fully-computerized environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
* Ability to prioritize, coordinate and perform a wide range of clerical duties, necessary to the efficient functioning of the Accounts Payable department;
* Excellent computer skills including proficiency in the use of Intermediate Microsoft Office Word, Excel (tested) and accurate keyboarding skills of 35 w.p.m (tested);
* Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred;
* Effective written and verbal communication skills;
* Good organizational and interpersonal skills;
* Working knowledge of accounting procedures;
* Working knowledge and understanding of purchasing, receiving and the payment cycle;
* Must be able to work in a stressful environment with high workload volume;
* This position requires attention to detail and mental concentration for moderately long periods of time;
* Ability to foster good public relations and effective working relationships;
* Knowledge of SAP accounts payable is an asset;
