Project Manager – Innovation Delivery Group
The Environment Agency is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the Innovation Delivery Group (IDG). In this role you will lead a range of projects across the IDG portfolio, working closely with colleagues from Projects and Programme Delivery and engaging with external stakeholders to deliver high‑quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the full‑life project delivery process for client sponsors.
* Apply commercial acumen in project, contract and risk management to deliver projects on time, within budget and to agreed quality.
* Collaborate with suppliers, client representatives, technical specialists and other partners to achieve successful outcomes.
* Monitor and forecast expenditure, ensuring compliance with Environment Agency guidance.
* Provide training and participate in incident response duties as required.
Experience and Skills Required
* Experience in project and contract management, ideally within engineering, construction or flood & coastal risk management.
* A degree (or equivalent experience) in a related discipline.
* Track record of delivering technically challenging projects through coordination of technical teams.
* Commercial experience with procurement approaches and contract management.
* Experience in project financial management and cost forecasting.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with Project is preferred.
* Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
* Experience in report writing, including business cases.
* Risk management experience and Health & Safety competence.
* Desirable: chartered membership (e.g. ICE, CIWEM, APMP), experience with NEC contracts, CDM X63 certification, and preparation of Scope of Services for appraisal contracts.

Location: Flexible nationally, with an expectation to co‑locate in a local hub or delivery partner office occasionally.
