PCN Pharmacy Technician
Central North Leeds Primary Care Network (PCN) is looking to expand its pharmacy team to deliver excellent pharmacy‑led services. We seek a highly motivated, enthusiastic pharmacy technician to work alongside our existing clinical teams, building effective working relationships to improve care for our patients.
Compensation & Details
Salary: £31,049 to £37,796 a year (Agenda for Change).
Contract: Permanent. Working pattern: Full‑time.

Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
* Undertake medicines reconciliation by processing discharge summaries and clinic letters in accordance with practice protocols and updating patients’ medical records.
* Support the clinical pharmacist with medication reviews, including reconciliation and synchronisation of medicines.
* Respond to medication queries from patients and staff, referring to the clinical pharmacist when appropriate.
* Conduct clinical audits and act upon the results to ensure patient safety and optimise medicines.
* Assist General Practice and PCN staff with Long‑Term Condition medication reviews.
* Monitor national medication and patient safety alerts, informing and supporting surgeries to ensure timely actions.
* Operate within shared care protocols, liaising with clinical pharmacists before starting work to establish clear task boundaries.
* Support antimicrobial stewardship initiatives to reduce inappropriate antibiotic prescribing locally.
Technical & Administrative Responsibilities
* Assist the PCN multi‑disciplinary team to ensure efficient medicines optimisation processes.
* Implement efficient ordering and return processes, reducing medication wastage.
* Promote Electronic Repeat Dispensing (eRD) and online ordering.
* Develop relationships with other pharmacy professionals and multidisciplinary team members to support integration across health and social care.
* Support practice reception teams in stream‑lining general prescription requests, allowing GPs and clinical pharmacists to focus on complex requests.
* Assist with implementing national prescribing policies and guidance within GP practices, care homes, and other primary care settings.
* Work within shared care protocols, liaising with clinical pharmacists to establish clear boundaries for tasks.
* Support PCN in delivering the QIPP agenda, QOF, and locally commissioned enhanced services.
* Assist with reviewing and developing practice policies for CQC and PCN requirements.
* Implement new services within the PCN or in collaboration with other stakeholders such as community pharmacy.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential: Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Experience
* Significant experience (2 or more years) in any pharmacy sector (hospital, community pharmacy, or primary care).
* Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Attitude & Behaviour
Essential: Patient‑centred outlook.
Other Requirements
Essential: Car owner/driver.
