The opportunity has arisen for 2 Rehabilitation Instructors primarily based in the Craft and Design Centre. The individuals will work as part of a team, providing patient care and activity primarily in the area of Arts & Crafts within a busy activity centre. The successful candidates will be responsible for planning and implementing patients’ programmes within the centre and will assist patients in engaging in a wide range of art and creative activities that enhance skills, knowledge, and therapeutic benefits. Ideally, candidates should have core skills and knowledge in arts and creative crafts, with practical experience in delivering these skills in a therapeutic, learning, or training environment.
The opportunity also includes 2 Rehabilitation Instructors as Activity staff, providing therapeutic activities across wards, hubs, grounds, and the Skye Centre. The successful candidates will work closely with the Charge Nurse and Senior Rehabilitation Instructor to develop activity programmes for patients not yet ready for mainstream sessions. We seek individuals who are self-motivated, compassionate, confident in engaging with patients in acute stages, and flexible to work across various locations with clinical teams.
The Skye Centre offers a high-quality, individualized service including therapeutic, recreational, social, vocational, educational, and physical health activities. You will collaborate with nursing staff, Rehabilitation Instructors, and HCSWs as part of the team. The role involves working independently and in partnership with patients and clinical teams to develop, maintain, and deliver high-quality care, ensuring a safe environment through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care processes.
Experience
Crafts: candidates should have relevant experience or qualifications in this area.
Activity: candidates should have relevant experience or SVQ in this area.
Candidates should have NHS or Third Sector experience, with knowledge of leading groups and motivating patients in activities.
