Overview
We are seeking a motivated and adaptable IT Support Technician to join our team, primarily based at our Devon site. This role involves providing technical support to a specialist customer base and contributing to the smooth running of IT operations across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide on‑site technical support at the Carmarthen site 4–5 days per week.
* Travel occasionally to other sites to assist colleagues with project work, annual leave cover, and other support needs.
* Deliver support across Windows 10/11 operating systems, including troubleshooting and event log analysis.
* Offer software support and limited hardware support, including break/fix and fault finding.
* Manage Microsoft Server OS tasks such as joiners, leavers, movers, DHCP, DNS, ADDS, and VAMT.
* Conduct data management activities, including archiving data to tape via tape library systems.
* Perform BAU (Business As Usual) tasks:
o Antivirus monitoring
o Storage and capacity management
o Physical hardware health checks
* Carry out office moves, hardware installations, and basic server maintenance (Lenovo workstations and Dell servers).
* Update administrative records and ticketing systems accurately and promptly.
* Follow written work instructions (SOPs) to complete tasks effectively.
* Create documentation for key processes for internal and customer use.
Skills & Experience
* Basic to intermediate IT knowledge, with a willingness to learn and develop in non‑standard environments.
* Previous experience in IT support, field services, or service desk roles is desirable.
* Good understanding of core technologies: Windows OS, Windows Server, Networking.
* Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Capable of prioritising support tickets and managing workload efficiently.
* Familiarity with break/fix processes and hardware troubleshooting.
Training & Development

Core Requirements
* Post is subject to obtaining full security clearance (SC/NPPV).
* Full UK driving licensing, requirement to travel to sites. (Company Car/Allowance Provided).
