The Multi-Skilled Plumber is a vital role responsible for carrying out a range of plumbing repairs, installations, and maintenance, as well as undertaking various other multi-trade tasks within social housing properties. This individual will contribute to providing safe, comfortable, and well-maintained living environments for tenants.
Key responsibilities
* Plumbing Repairs and Installations:
o Perform first and second-fix plumbing, including installing and repairing taps, toilets, pipework, radiators etc
o Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues efficiently, ensuring high-quality and long-lasting repairs.
o Install new plumbing systems in accordance with regulations and safety standards.
o Carry out routine inspections to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
o Respond promptly to emergency call-outs, such as burst pipes and blocked drains, minimizing disruption to tenants.
* Multi-Trade Tasks:
o Complete basic carpentry tasks, such as repairing/installing bath panels, fixing kitchen cupboards, or repairing floor joists.
o Undertake minor patch plastering and tiling as needed.
o Perform painting and decorating tasks.
o Carry out other general maintenance and repair tasks as required.
* Tenant/Customer Focus:
o Work professionally and considerately within people's homes, providing excellent customer service and minimizing disruption.
o Liaise effectively with tenants, supervisors, and other trades to ensure smooth and timely completion of work.
o Accurately record job details, materials used, and work completed on our in house CAFM job recording system.
* Health and Safety:
o Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, asbestos awareness, and safe working practices.
o Conduct dynamic risk assessments and follow appropriate procedures.
o Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working condition, reporting any faults or issues promptly.
