The key role of the Bar Manager is to support the Food and Beverage Operations Manager by taking ownership of our main bar; The State Room Lounge. Your aim should be creating and ensuring a consistent beverage experience for our guests, exceeding expectations, and maintaining the highest service standards.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Taking full ownership of the State Room Lounge you are responsible for all the bar activities including daily operation, the service, staff guidance and cost control
You will be responsible for the welcome and personal care of the guests in the State Room Lounge, ensuring a consistent luxury and personalised guest experience
You will lead, inspire, and motivate the bar team to make sure they exceed in their roles, through induction, training, management, empowerment, and development
You will identify opportunities to enhance quality standards regarding beverage, set up, presentation and atmosphere.
You will be responsible for the recruitment and onboarding process for the team
You will manage guest recovery situations promptly and effectively
You will oversee with the scheduling, time keeping and attendance for the department
You will oversee cash handling and cash up procedures, ensuring that any queries are rectified with accounts in a timely manner
You will ensure the careful handling of complaints and accidents, ensure first aid training is up to date
Support with training and implementation of HACCP, COSHH and fire procedures
Act as F&B duty manager whilst on shift
Your Knowledge & Capabilities:
You have a passion for delivering exceptional guest service
You have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
You are enthusiastic and have a positive personality with the ability to build genuine and trusting relationships
You have proven organisational and leadership qualities
You are resilient and flexible to adapt your work schedule to the demands of the business
You are confident in handling guest complaints
You have proven experience with colleague management
You use your initiative and take a practical approach to problem solving
You are confident with completing administrative tasks and are proficient in Microsoft Office
Proven Experience/Qualifications:
Proven experience 2+years of management within a quality bar, preferably within a luxury hotel environment.
A strong spirit and mixology knowledge.
Previous high-volume experience is essential with knowledge of how to turn tables and manage large groups of reservations in a short period of time to maximise total covers in a day, while taking the most revenue possible without losing the focus on service standards.
