The role
As an IT Project Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of delivering innovative technology solutions that support critical defence, aerospace, and engineering operations across the UK. Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
1. Lead the planning, execution and delivery of IT projects across all Babcock sectors
2. Track key project milestones and adjust plans to meet evolving business needs
3. Maintain full project documentation in line with Babcock’s IT Project Management Process
4. Coordinate communication across stakeholders to manage scope, budget, risk, and resources
5. Ensure through-life support is embedded in all new business system solutions
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday, with flexible start and finish times between 07:30 and 18:00. Your contractual location will be the closest Babcock hub to your home and occasional travel to other sites, including overnight stays will be required
Essential experience of the IT Project Manager:
6. Proven experience managing software application projects using structured methodologies
7. Strong understanding of the Applications Lifecycle Management (ALM) process
8. Experience managing both in-house development teams and third-party suppliers
9. Proficiency with Microsoft Project (Project Server preferred)
10. Track record of delivering large-scale projects on time and within budget in complex environments
Qualifications for the IT Project Manager:
11. Certified Scrum Master, Agile certified or equivalent
12. Project Management certification such as PRINCE2, APM, or equivalent

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
