We are looking to recruit an ALN admin apprentice to work alongside experienced teachers and undertake the following duties.
Responsibilities
* Manage student records and plans – keep track of students identified with ALN (Additional Learning Needs) and maintain documents like Individual Development Plans (IDPs), updating records, ensuring legal requirements are met, and keeping everything organised.
* Coordinate support services – act as a hub between teachers, teaching assistants, parents, and external professionals (such as educational psychologists or therapists) to arrange and communicate additional support for students.
* Support the ALNCo (Additional Learning Needs Coordinator) – handle much of the administrative workload by scheduling meetings, preparing paperwork, and tracking progress data.
* Organise meetings and reviews – arrange review meetings for students with ALN, invite relevant staff and parents, and record outcomes to assess whether support is effective.
* Ensure compliance with regulations – help schools follow strict legal guidelines by ensuring deadlines, documentation, and processes meet requirements (e.g., in Wales).
* Handle communication – respond to emails or queries from parents and staff about support arrangements, keeping everyone informed.
