Supply Desk is working closely with a well-regarded secondary school in Watford to recruit a qualified and enthusiastic Design & Technology (D&T) Teacher for a full-time position starting September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to join a thriving department in a supportive and forward-thinking school.
The ideal candidate will be confident teaching Key Stage 3 and 4, with the ability to deliver engaging, practical lessons that inspire creativity and problem-solving in students. Experience across areas such as resistant materials, graphics, product design, or food technology is welcome.
Job Description:
* Plan and deliver high-quality Design & Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
* Teach across KS3 and KS4, preparing students for GCSE examinations.
* Create a safe and stimulating environment in workshops and classrooms.
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
* Work collaboratively with department colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery.
* Contribute to whole-school activities, enrichment, and extracurricular D&T projects.
* Uphold high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
Our Ideal Candidate Will:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Have experience teaching D&T in a secondary school setting.
* Be confident using a range of tools, materials, and equipment safely.
* Have excellent subject knowledge and a passion for design and innovation.
* Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills.
* Be committed to continuous professional development and teamwork.
* Hold (or be willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS check.
