The post holder wi ll be responsible for creating, gathering all ingredients, baking pastries in a timely manner and presenting it in an appealing way to customers. The role requires a high level of culinary expertise, creativity, and ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment. The role requires the ability to stand for extended period. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Create and bake intercontinental p astr ies and traditional Nigerian pastr ies recipe, create, and gather all necessary ingredients. Bake pastries in a timely manner, inform wait staff about daily specials, Ensure appealing plate presentation. Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests. Monitor pastry ingredients stock and place orders. Check freshness of pastries and discard out-of-date items. Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients and ideas. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area. PERSON SPECIFICATION College Diploma or GCSE. Proven experience working in bakery/ food service. Knowledge of Afro-Caribbean pastries. The ability to stand for extended periods. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Effective communication skills. Exceptional customer service skills. Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual task including moving items from one location to the other. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
