Location: Flexible – Any office across regions such as Bristol, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Cardiff, and Birmingham.
Start Date: ASAP.
End Date: Initially a 6‑month contract, with potential for extension depending on future workload.
Hours Per Week: 37.5.
Working Arrangements: Hybrid – Ideally 3 days in the office.
Qualification required: Honours Degree in Civil Engineering (or HND or equivalent experience); working towards chartership with the ICE.
Expenses: Yes – for travel to and from project sites.
Notice Period: 4 weeks by contractor; 1 week by employer.
Vetting Level: B.

Opportunity Overview
A leading multi‑disciplinary consultancy is seeking a Civil Engineer to join its growing Building Design team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a variety of high‑profile design and construction projects across the UK and overseas. It is a flexible role that can be based in any regional office, with hybrid working options available. The role is suited for a motivated civil engineer who is eager to expand their experience across infrastructure, drainage, utilities, and structural design within the built environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Contributing to the delivery of small to medium infrastructure projects as part of a technically focussed design.
* Producing designs for projects in accordance with relevant design standards and codes.
* Ensuring the provision of efficient and high‑quality engineering services.
* Effectively managing own time.
* Collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary design team.
* Complying with Quality and Technical Assurance Procedures.
* Being aware of and working in compliance with BIM standards, Digital Plan of Work, and the project BIM Execution Plan.
Essential Requirements
* Drainage experience.
* Experience with Infodrainage or flow software.
* Roads & car park experience.
* Experience with Civils 3D software.
* 5+ years of experience in the Buildings sector.
* Honours Degree in Civil Engineering (or HND or equivalent experience); working towards chartership with the ICE.
* Experience in the design and analysis of drainage, utilities, paved and unpaved surfaces, earthworks, access and accessibility, construction logistics.
* Familiarity with current UK design standards and working practices.
* Good communication and presentation skills, verbal and written (for report writing purposes).
* Ability to use AutoCAD and Civils 3D; Revit BIM 360 experience is also desirable.
* Ability to work and collaborate both independently and as part of a multi‑discipline team.
* Embrace new technologies including digital engineering, automation and parametric design.
* Ability to achieve SC clearance (desirable).
* Driving licence (desirable).
* Eligible for UK SC (Security Clearance).

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require you to provide proof of 5 years or longer in the UK.
