Support Worker (Male Only)
📍 Salisbury, Wiltshire | Full-Time | Up to £, per year
We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist supported living provider for a male Autism Support Worker to support a non-verbal adult with autism and complex emotional needs in his own home.
This role is male only due to a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 0.
Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK, as sponsorship is not available for this role.

1. ÂŁ. per hour (enhanced rate due to senior responsibility)

The advertised salary is based on completing all scheduled weekends. A reduced weekend commitment can be agreed, with the overall salary adjusted accordingly.

Standard Week (No Worked Weekend)
8. paid day hours + 4 sleep-ins
9. Monday: Evening shift from approx. 8:pm + sleep‑in
10. Tuesday–Thursday:
11. Morning: 8:am–:am
12. Evening: 6:pm–sleep‑in
13. Friday: 8:am–:am
Week With a Worked Weekend
14. .5 paid day hours + 6 sleep-ins
15. Friday: 2:pm–sleep‑in
16. Saturday: 8:am–6:pm
17. Sunday: :am–sleep‑in
18. Monday: 8:am–2:pm
19. Only 8 weekends per year
20. Not a live-in role
21. Annual rota provided well in advance

You’ll provide hands-on, person-centred support and assist the Service Team Manager with the day-to-day running of this bespoke service. When the manager is off shift, you’ll act as the senior support presence on site.

🔍 Support Worker Recruitment Process
Due to the complex nature of the role, the client operates a thorough recruitment process to ensure the right match:
29. Initial phone call to discuss the role
30. – minute meet and greet with the service user and Service Team Manager, followed by a first interview
31. Second interview (approx. 2 hours) with more in‑depth discussion about the service
32. Third and fourth interviews, giving candidates additional time to spend with the service user and Service Team Manager, helping both parties assess compatibility and working style in a relaxed, supportive setting
33. Paid training and shadow shifts commence if an offer is made
