Bookkeeper / Office Manager, Harrogate,£30-£35,000 A well-established small business based in central Harrogate is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Office Manager to oversee the day-to-day financial management and office administration of the practice. This is a long-standing role becoming available due to the relocation of the current postholder. A full handover will be provided to ensure a smooth transition. The position is finance-led (80%), with responsibility for supporting the efficient running of the office. Key Responsibilities Finance & Bookkeeping Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and financial ledgers Prepare budgets and monitor expenditure against forecasts Raise invoices, process payments, manage client accounts and credit control Prepare year-end financial information for external accountants Liaise with accountants and respond to financial queries Office Administration & Management Manage the day-to-day running of the office, including answering telephone enquiries Maintain organised digital and paper filing systems Manage diaries, appointments, and meeting arrangements Act as first point of contact for clients and external parties Deal with enquiries professionally by phone and email Support and improve office procedures and systems Property / Conveyancing Support Assist with administrative aspects of conveyancing matters Prepare and manage documentation related to property transactions Liaise with solicitors, estate agents, lenders, and clients Skills & Experience Proven experience in bookkeeping and budgeting Previous office management or senior administrative experience Experience within property, surveying, legal, or conveyancing environments preferred (but not essential) Strong IT skills, including accounting software and Microsoft Office Working Hours & Benefits Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9.00am 5.30pm 4 or 4.5 days per week could be considered after probation/settling-in period Supportive handover and established systems in place
