We are looking for candidates who are currently working at the Trust within a substantive band 7 position from BAME backgrounds. Your professional skills maybe from an Allied Health Professional background / Nurse or administrative role, who is enthusiastic and motivated and have a particular interest in championing BAME issues.
This 12-month development opportunity for BAME staff will prepare, support and provide you with the necessary experience for future senior leadership roles within the NHS. The promotion of BAME leaders in senior management roles is vitally important for us as an organisation. This role will in addition, enable BAME leaders to sharpen their managerial and leadership skills in multiple settings through defined projects and responsibilities.
Main duties of the job
The role will be responsible for leading on innovation and service improvement in High Secure Services to ensure continuous improvement based on QI principles. Working with senior clinicians, managers and clinical experts in implementing clinically appropriate services to ensure that high quality care is provided to all service users / patients whilst maintaining high staff retention and reducing staff turnover. The post holder will work with the teams in High Secure Services and be based within Broadmoor Hospital.
The post holder will be a member of the Senior Management Team and work with senior clinicians and managers across the hospital and the wider Trust to implement a strategy that embraces cultural difference, equality of opportunity and the needs regarding BAME representation within our patient group, this includes working on reducing the use of restrictive interventions within the secure setting, improving health outcomes, evaluating the opportunity to engage in therapies and reducing the length of time spent in secure environments.

The Trust is an established partner and contributor in the development of the evolving North West London Integrated Care System and the Integrated Care Board. The Trust leads the NW London Children and Adolescent Mental Health provider collaborative.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Job Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to develop opportunities for BAME staff in preparation for senior leadership roles, whilst reducing the scarcity of BAME leaders in senior management roles. In addition, this role will enable BAME leaders to sharpen their managerial and leadership skills in multiple settings through defined projects and responsibilities.

Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
1. Must be from a “BAME” Background
2. Masters level qualification or equivalent experience.
3. Successful completion of West London NHS Trust’s BME Leadership Development Programme
Desirable criteria
4. Recognised teaching qualification
5. Programme or project management qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
6. Currently working at Band 7 level or above.
7. Minimum 1 year experience working at Band 7 level.
Desirable criteria
8. Experience of applying a range of strategic and operational service redesign approaches, change management techniques to work situations.
