PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
GRS Group are seeking a results-driven National Key Account Manager to lead and grow key relationships within builders' merchants. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sales professional from the construction materials sector, with a proven track record in key account management and delivering sustainable sales growth. You'll be responsible for negotiating major accounts, identifying new opportunities, and presenting strategic customer proposals that enhance both volume and margin. The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties are many and varied, but the list below is considered to be the basic requirement:
Business Development:
Identify and secure new business opportunities within national builders' merchant accounts.
Develop tailored sales strategies to expand GRS offerings into new market sectors not currently covered.
Drive lead generation and follow through to successful onboarding of new customers and stockists.
Key Account & Relationship Management:
Manage and grow relationships within key national builders' merchants.
Conduct regular reviews with key accounts to ensure performance, resolve issues, and identify new opportunities.
Support and shape early engagement by building relationships with builders' merchants and suppliers.
Commercial Strategy:
Work with directors and internal teams to align growth plans with overall business strategy.
Develop and implement marketing and sales plans that support revenue and margin growth.
Collaborate with internal teams (supply chain, marketing, commercial) to ensure excellent customer service and delivery.
Operational Excellence:
Ensure supplier pricing and commercial agreements are regularly reviewed and kept in line with market conditions.
Use data and market insight to guide decisions and strategy.
Responsibility for compliance and discharging legal duties with regards to HR and Health & Safety to promote a safe, equitable and legally compliant workplace.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB:
Experience in managing key national customer accounts (Essential).
Previous experience with the construction / building materials industry (Desirable).
Must have a full UK Driving License (Essential).
