Property Services Keyworker - AASC (Asylum)

Job Type: 24 hours per week with additional hours up to 39 per week.
Main Purpose
To provide high-quality housing-related services to asylum seekers accommodated by the Home Office.
Responsibilities
* Assist asylum seekers in moving into dispersed accommodation throughout Hull provided by Target Housing.
* Induct tenants into Target Housing accommodation, explaining house rules and occupancy terms.
* Support tenants with GP registration and urgent healthcare needs.
* Provide tenants with information on local services, including education and English classes.
* Ensure tenants have access to appropriate cash funds.
* Help tenants understand their rights and responsibilities.
* Conduct regular visits (twice monthly) to ensure accommodation quality and welfare.
* Report maintenance issues and ensure proper record-keeping of visits and events.
* Build relationships with external organizations serving asylum seekers and refugees.
* Assist tenants in finding alternative accommodation at the end of their stay.
* Close cases following service procedures and contractual obligations.
Person Specifications
* Experience supporting vulnerable people in housing.
* Understanding of challenges faced by ethnic minorities.
* Knowledge of immigration regulations and asylum process (desirable).
* Understanding of UK Child Protection legislation.
* Knowledge of health and safety in accommodation.
* No criminal record.
* Full UK driving license.
* Satisfy immigration and work rights in the UK.
