Our people are at the heart of our business and we’re recruiting for an qualified Group Management Accountant to join our Colchester based team. You'll primarily be based in our Colchester office, but hybrid working is available after successful completion of your probation and training period.
You role will be to support our finance team in maintaining financial accuracy and integrity. The successful candidate will assist in the preparation of management accounts, financial reports, and budgeting processes, while also contributing to various finance-related tasks.
What You’ll Do
* Preparation of UK management accounts – ensuring timely and accurate reporting across multiple entities.
* Collation of reporting from group companies in AUS and US.
* Reconciliation of intercompany accounts – maintaining precision in financial records and resolving discrepancies.
* Supervision of the Assistant Management Accountant – overseeing core finance tasks such as bank reconciliations, analysis of overhead accruals/prepayments and journal entries.
* Collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure adherence to group accounting policies and compliance requirements.
* Assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
* Contributing to process improvements and ensuring efficiencies in financial operations.
* Preparing financial reports and documentation for external audit.
* Ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
* Support the senior management in the preparation and interpretation of financial statistics.
* Quarterly reconciliation of overhead related supplier accounts.
* Other regulatory reporting (ATOL, ABTA, IATA etc).
* Assist Head of Finance in operating and improving internal controls within the finance function.
* Provide support to the Head of Finance with reporting and production of timely MI.
* Act with integrity at all times ensuring team performs tasks in ethical manner.
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or qualified by experience.
* Strong technical understanding of financial reporting, intercompany accounting, and reconciliations.
* Proven experience in management accounting and overseeing financial processes
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* High proficiency in Excel for data management and reporting.
* Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Able to work to strict deadlines.
* Excellent leadership and team supervision skills.
* Manage your own time effectively.
