Finance Business Partner (Controller) – Brixworth, Northamptonshire – F1 / Motorsport
This amazing initial 12 month contract for a Finance Business Partner supports our Advanced Technology division, focusing on Automotive and Motorsport R&D Projects that support the Group’s movement toward more sustainable road cars.
This is a unique opportunity to showcase your expertise and skills with a world‑leading Formula 1 business in Northamptonshire.
We need this person to:
* Work within our client’s Advanced Technology division, focusing on Automotive and Motorsport R&D Projects that support the Group’s movement toward more sustainable road cars.
* Report key financial information to internal stakeholders to allow them to make informed business decisions.
* Finance business partner for the Advanced Technology division, working with engineering and operational stakeholders (internally referred to as Controller).
* Ensure all project costs are controlled and reported.
* Provide full costings for potential new projects to support the quotation process and external funding requirements.
* Support UK Government Grant funding applications and submissions, seeking new opportunities for additional funding to maximise profitability.
* Develop complex data models using software such as Alteryx, Power Query and Power BI, delivering weekly forecasts and accurate insights into project cost variances.
* Work closely with Project Leaders on resource planning and costing, ensuring all projects stay within their headcount budgets and resources are used effectively across all projects.
We need you to be skilled at:
* Effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
* Time management, especially when managing a variety of topics in parallel.
* Excellent presentation skills with the ability to present complex information to senior level stakeholders in a compelling and concise manner.
* Analysing and interpreting large volumes of financial data.
* Automation and continuous improvement of reporting processes.
* Building and costing business cases.
* Effective problem‑solving skills.
You will need to have experience of:
* Being analytical in cost control.
* Management accounting, including budget setting and forecasting.
* A fast‑paced working environment.
* A manufacturing background / Engineering R&D (preferable).
You will also need to demonstrate knowledge of:
* Managing a monthly / weekly forecast and associated reporting requirements.
* Costing various scenarios, analysing variances and presenting information (written and verbal) to senior stakeholders.
* Understanding complex financial scenarios and modelling them accordingly.
* Providing financial information in a fast‑paced environment.
* Continuous improvement, automating processes to increase transparency and efficiency.
* Experience of SAP, excellent Excel / Power Query skills, Power BI.
You will need to be qualified in:
* ACA, ACCA, CIMA or ICAS qualified (part‑qualified considered by exception).
* Academic background in a numerate, economic or business‑based subject.
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience post‑qualification.
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Management Accounting.
