(Maternity Cover, Full Time)
Make a real difference to young people's lives
We are looking for a compassionate, skilled and values-driven Wellbeing & Inclusion Officer to join our youth team on a fixed-term maternity cover. This is a pivotal role at the heart of our youth movements, that strives to promote environments that support safe, confident, and authentic participation by children and young people.
Working across our Youth Movements, you will lead on wellbeing, inclusion and safeguarding - supporting young people, empowering volunteer leaders and helping to build environments where care, trust and belonging are woven into everything we do.
About the role
You will combine strategic oversight with hands-on delivery, acting as a trusted point of contact for sensitive matters and providing practical support before, during and after events. From creating personalised support plans to training leaders, responding to incidents and shaping safeguarding culture, this is a role for someone who thrives on responsibility and impact.
You will:
Lead wellbeing, inclusion and safeguarding across both youth movements
Assess additional needs and develop personalised support and care plans
Train and support youth leaders and residential wellbeing teams
Act as a Designated or Deputy Safeguarding Lead
Provide on-call and in-person support at residential events
Work closely with families, communities and external professionals
Champion a preventative, inclusive and child-centred culture
About you
You are:
Experienced in wellbeing, inclusion, pastoral care or safeguarding with children and young people
Calm, compassionate and confident handling complex or sensitive situations
Highly organised, with excellent communication and record-keeping skills
Committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice
Comfortable working evenings, weekends and residentials
Experience in youth movements, residential settings or community organisations is highly valued.
Why join us?
This is a chance to take on a meaningful leadership role in youth wellbeing and safeguarding, within a supportive organisation that values care, professionalism and continuous learning. You'll be trusted, supported and encouraged to make a lasting difference.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment.
