Overview
We are looking for a self‑motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Private Sector Disrepair Team who will utilise available enforcement powers to support the agenda of improvement within the built environment of North Lanarkshire.
Responsibilities
* Conduct programmed inspections of HMO and short‑term let premises.
* Assist in the administration and enforcement of landlord registration.
* Investigate enquiries regarding housing disrepair including failures of the tolerable standard and repairing standard.
* Investigate statutory nuisance complaints in relation to property disrepair whilst ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
* Assist in the implementation of strategies to address emerging statutory responsibilities and priorities.
Qualifications
* Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent.
* REHIS Diploma in Environmental Health, or equivalent.
* Sound knowledge of current environmental health issues.
* Ability to work to specific deadlines.
* Excellent communication and IT skills.
* Current driving licence.
* REHIS membership desirable.
Work Pattern
35 hours per week – Monday to Thursday: 08:45 am – 16:45 pm (including a 55 minute unpaid break). Friday: 08:45 am – 16:15 pm (including a 50 minute unpaid break).
