As an Official Injury Claims Case Handler, you will represent clients who have suffered injuries due to road traffic accidents, helping them pursue claims for damages against the Defendant. The ideal candidate will manage a caseload of claims, investigating the circumstances of accidents, collecting medical evidence to support clients' claims, valuing the injuries sustained, and gathering all necessary documentation related to their losses.
Recognising that this can be a challenging time for our clients, you will be there from the onset of their claims, providing reassurance and empathy while advising them on the best path forward. In this fast-paced position, you will efficiently manage and advance your own caseload using our in-house case management system, ensuring compliance with our key client metrics and keeping clients updated on progress at every stage.
Main Responsibilities and Requirements
1. Ability to prioritise and manage a full caseload
2. Proactively reviewing accident circumstances and any relevant case law
3. Assessing and investigating liability
4. Reviewing Medical Reports & valuing injury claims
5. Reviewing financial losses
6. Advising clients in respect of liability and quantum
7. Considering prospects and taking a pragmatic approach to settlements
8. Prioritising and managing a to do list
9. Great telephone manner
10. Good negotiation skills and the ability to make decisions
11. A strong team ethos and willingness to engage
12. A positive attitude and willingness to learn
13. Good initiative and ability to meet deadlines
Requirements
14. Experience of handling claims of this nature is helpful but not essential
15. A genuine interest in law and be willing to learn new skills and approaches to tasks
16. Numeracy, Literacy and IT skills are vital, and you will need to be a great communicator
17. You will need to be able to manage your time effectively, ensuring adherence with service legal agreements and deadlines
18. Be able to prioritise your work in what can be a busy environment
19. Problem solving and the ability to weigh up various approaches and then action the appropriate solution
20. Eagerness to “get stuck in”, whilst you maintain strong attention to detail
21. Enthusiastic about delivering great service
22. Desire to perform to the best of your abilities
