I am working with a leading residential property development organisation that is well known for high-quality new-build homes across the UK. Thispany aims to deliver over 15,000 new homes each year and ismitted to providing the highest standard of design and construction.
Your new role
1. Provide support and assistance to senior management and subordinates on SHE issues.
2. Have an accurate understanding of the Group SHE policy and Management System.
3. Attend premencement meetings as requested to proactively contribute to the initial decisions made by the Contract Team.
4. Provide assistance to the Division's Technical Department in the evaluation of premencement risks and appropriate discharge of the requirements of the Construction Design & Management Regulations.
5. Review in conjunction with the Contracts Manager, the content and detail of the Construction Phase Safety, Health & Environment Plan, Traffic Management Plan and Fire Plan.
6. Carry out regular monitoring visits to developments and provide advice and guidance on the application of standards.pile electronic reports on standards observed and evaluate overall management based on a bespoke rating system.
7. Ensure suitable support and advice is provided to all site management and regional staff and ensure that reports of incidents, accidents and ill health are appropriately investigated.
8. Ensure serious breaches of policy, procedures and legislation are brought immediately to the attention of the Contracts Manager/Construction Director, and ensure action is taken regarding issues raised by liaising with Enforcement Officers.
What you'll need to succeed
9. For this role, you will need, at a minimum, either NEBOSH Construction certificate or NEBOSH General certificate and be working towards NVQ Diploma level 5 in Occupational Health and Safety Practice.
10. You will also need to be an Associate/Technical member of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (AIOSH/Tech IOSH).
11. You must possess a knowledge of the construction industry and the application of SHE standards and procedures, also knowledge of the application of environmental standards in construction.
