About Our Client
Our client is a growing, well established manufacturing company who are now looking to recruit an Operations Manager.
Job Description
The principal focus of the role will be managing the production and operations function The position will be responsible for managing the Health & Safety standards and driving through Safety standards/culture and behavioural change. Responsibility will include line management of Production staff as well as maintaining sound employee relations.The role will involve regular liaison with the Technical & Quality functions to ensure that the necessary high standards of quality are met and exceed customer expectations. The role will also involve assisting with both product improvement and product development
3. Manage production staff holidays and shift cover
4. Ensure daily workflow will achieve production schedules and dispatch deadlines.
5. Support continuous improvement activities in operations to deliver improvements in productivity,
6. reduction in waste, and quality
7. Ensure the skills development of all operational employees to ensure they possess the correct skill levels to perform in the role and meet the targets of the business.
8. Ensure shop floor data information is completed, on time, and accurate.
9. Hold daily team meetings and ensure good employee communication, training, safety, and absence management, ensuring compliance with Company Policies and Procedures.
10. Deliver objectives as set by the Operations Director to support business growth.
11. Work with the QA & Technical function to ensure quality standards are achieved and maintained, initiating corrective actions where required
12. Liaise with the sales team on new business opportunities and product development
The Successful Applicant
13. Proven experience in managing production and operations teams
14. Must be a proven Manufacturing site leader
15. Organizational and leadership skills
16. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
17. Experience in running extrusion and/or conversion equipment an advantage but not essential
18. Able to drive performance with a strong sense of urgency, in a demanding customer-focused
19. environment.
20. Excellent communicator
21. Organised and calm under pressure
22. Proactive, positive, enthusiastic - demonstrates "can-do" attitude
23. Leads by example, but effective delegator
