We have an exciting opportunity for a Regulatory Support Officer to join our Environmental Health and Regulatory Services team, supporting the delivery of services focused on tackling enviro-crime across West Oxfordshire.
In this varied and hands‑on role, you’ll play a key part in supporting investigations and enforcement activities, helping to protect the local environment and ensure our communities remain clean, safe, and sustainable.
We are looking for a proactive and dependable individual who takes pride in delivering a high standard of work. You will be comfortable building rapport with a wide range of people and be able to approach sensitive or difficult situations with composure and professionalism.
Please note you will be required to travel throughout the district; therefore access to a vehicle is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
* Deal with routine service requests, working within relevant legislation, prescribed policy, procedures and guideline.
* Ability to undertake field visits/investigations across multiple sites if required.
* Information gathering following triage, to include initial customer contact, case assessment and/or review.
* Site visits to support investigations.
* Maintain fixed penalty notice register for Enviro-crime.
* To support Officers in their regulatory work.
You will need
* A minimum of 5 qualifications equivalent to NVQ level 2 or GCSE at Grade C/4 or above, must include Maths and English.
* Ability to build customer relationships.
* Ability to remain calm and confident when dealing with challenging customers and environments.
* Ability to resolve routine issues by negotiation.
* Maintain accurate and up to date records.

* A full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
