The Carbon Advisory (CA) business sits across multiple sectors. The successful candidate will lead a team of consultants to deliver support to clients in reducing their carbon impact. This opportunity would be ideal for individuals with experience managing / leading a team, and a background in project management, engineering or environmental studies, who are looking to move into a leadership position with a focus on decarbonisation within a fast paced consulting environment. The Role
The Team Lead will be tasked with managing a group of consultants for the Carbon Advisory business and supporting with further development / expansion of the business. In your role of developing the business you will be expected to lead business development activities and work collaboratively with the current business leadership team to ensure the growth plan is reached.
In addition, as Team Lead, you will lead delivery and management of studies, create project teams as required, mentor and support members of the group & support in the development of new opportunities to expand the CA business.
For this role your experience in managing multi discipline teams and commercial acumen within the Energy and Materials sector will be critical for success. For the more technical Carbon Advisory specifics we will be able to offer training and development opportunities.

Responsibilities:
10. Lead Business Development activities and be responsible for winning work
11. Responsible for the implementation of prospect tracking and prospect win planning
12. Lead the development of proposals & marketing strategies to ensure a consistent approach
13. Act as a focal point for studies/projects within the group to ensure that work follows set standards and procedures
14. Interface with and report to Clients as required on studies / projects
15. Manage the teams workloads, allocate projects & ensure that all members of the team are aligned
16. Act as the interface between the Carbon Advisory team and other areas of Wood to make sure that projects are resourced properly
17. Develop goals/KPI’s for projects to ensure optimum financial return
18. Ensure all aspects of work adheres to clients and CA’s policies and procedures
19. Support in the review of candidates for new/replacement roles.
20. Support in the mentoring & progression of staff
21. Support in ensuring that all areas of the Carbon Advisory group are operating efficiently
22. Build relationships with clients on all levels to ensure lasting relationships are created
23. Support in the strategic overview of the group to ensure that growth plans are met

Expected:
24. Masters Degree in Process Engineering, Engineering Science, or a technical environmental/ sustainable development related subject
25. Demonstrated ability to lead multi discipline teams
26. Proven commercial acumen in managing projects / studies
27. Previous experience in cultivating strong client relationships to develop and grow business in line with client requirements
28. An understanding of carbon emissions quantification, decarbonization techniques, circular carbon economy, energy transition
29. Strong analytical skills and can systematically break a complex task into more manageable parts and identify the critical components of a problem
30. Excellent communications skills both verbal and written
31. Demonstrable high-quality report writing and presentation skills
32. Keen to learn and to share learning with others
33. Experience within the formulation of business strategies and organisational frameworks
Desirable:
34. Demonstrated proficiency in international best practices in energy and carbon efficiency
35. A thorough understanding of the international policy and economic frameworks driving climate change agendas
36. Demonstrable background in decarbonisation studies and/or life cycle assessments
37. Experience in assisting clients to map energy and fuel usage and associated carbon equivalent emissions
38. Experience in assisting clients to identify and screen emissions reduction opportunities
39. Chartered to an internationally recognised Professional body (or working towards)
40. Good negotiation skills
41. An understanding of the concepts, principles and practices employed in the field of carbon accounting.
