Service Care Solutions is working in partnership with a Bedfordshire-based local authority which is seeking a skilled Childcare Solicitor to join their legal team. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a varied caseload of childcare law and related matters, while making a real difference in the local community.
Role: Childcare Solicitor
Location: Bedfordshire – agile working
Umbrella Rate: £50-£55ph
PAYE Inc Rate: £44.10 - £48.44ph
Contract Length: 3 months ongoing
Key Responsibilities of the Role:
Provide high-quality legal advice to council officers and members on complex childcare matters.
Manage your own caseload, including care proceedings, adoption, and safeguarding issues.
Represent the council as an advocate in courts and tribunals, working with minimal supervision.Key Requirements:
A qualified Solicitor or Barrister in England with a current practising certificate/rights of audience.
Minimum 5+ years’ PQE (essential) with proven experience in childcare law.
Strong advocacy skills, particularly in childcare cases.
Local Government legal experience is desirable but not essential.Benefits:
Agile working – there will be a requirement to attend court in person but the rest can be done from home.
Weekly pay – the rate offered will depend on experience and interview performance.
