Data Platform Engineer
Location: Hybrid (London)
Salary: £90,000 + Benefits
We are supporting a growing business who are currently building out a brand-new data platform as part of their long-term data strategy. This is a fantastic opportunity to take real ownership of a modern AWS/Snowflake-based platform, work directly alongside specialist data consultants, and shape the infrastructure, deployment and best practices from the ground up.
As the consultants move towards the handover phase, they are now looking to hire a Data Platform Engineer to take full ownership of the platform. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with the consultants during handover, giving you the chance to fully understand the environment, architecture, and tools being implemented.
The Role:
* Take ownership of the AWS & Snowflake data platform and infrastructure.
* Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support code deployments, infrastructure changes and data pipeline releases.
* Drive infrastructure, deployment, and code management best practices across the data platform.
* Work closely with internal software teams, feeding data into product environments.
* Build scalable, secure, and reliable data platform infrastructure following best practice architecture.
* Establish clear processes and standards around DevOps, deployment, version control and data platform operations.
* Own and manage end-to-end infrastructure design and delivery.
* Bring a pragmatic, "simple first" approach to infrastructure design — building solutions that work now and scale over time.
* Work with minimal support, but have consultants and wider software teams available for knowledge sharing where needed.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Strong experience working across AWS cloud environments.
* Proven platform experience with Snowflake.
* Hands-on experience with Terraform (preferred), or strong infrastructure-as-code skills with willingness to upskill quickly.
* Proven background in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure deployment and automation.
* Solid software or platform engineering background, ideally now working more closely with data platforms.
* Comfortable working end-to-end across infrastructure, deployment, security, and platform operations.
* Able to advise on best practices and ensure the platform is fit-for-purpose without over-engineering.
The Interview process will be 3 stages with the initial interviews happening w/c 23rd June.
