The Staff Architect will work on project teams to create world‑class designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments on a variety of project types including corporate, healthcare, sport venues, data centres, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government and military facilities.
* Perform architectural design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
* Modify and review production drawings for a variety of building types including, but not limited to data centres, power plants, process facilities, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, commercial, governmental and military facilities.
* Design exterior and interior components and architectural requirements for client vision set forth by the project managers.
* Apply strong knowledge of commonly used architectural concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the architecture industry.
* Research and compile project‑related data as required by the project managers. Compiles studies and reports. Writes specifications.
* Update drawings provided by senior architects to verify corrections are made within multiple software platforms.
* Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of power, process, pipeline, industrial, healthcare, airports, educational institutions, commercial, governmental and military facilities.
* Perform field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
* Comply with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
* Bachelor degree in Architecture from an accredited program and 3 years of architectural experience, consulting preferred. Required.
* A sound knowledge in standard architectural techniques and procedures.
* Experience at a concept design level to assist with the development of data centre masterplans.
* Ability to write specifications for all architectural elements and standards of workmanship.
* Some experience and knowledge of NBS specification writing.
* Experience of large‑scale industrial or commercial design.
* Excellent experience in working with structural, MEP and coordination with those disciplines.
* Data centre or telecommunication facility experience and knowledge of critical facility Mechanical design.
* Membership of relevant industry body, e.g. RIBA. Demonstrated progress toward becoming a Registered Architect.
* Strong knowledge in standard architectural techniques and procedures.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem‑solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
* Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
* Strong computer skills (e.g. BIM (Revit), Adobe Suites, and 3D rendering programmes).
* Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem‑solving skills.
